CrossFit I35 Winter Ice Games
Just completed my 4th CrossFit competition. I competed in the scaled division in the I35 Winter Ice Games in Overland Park, KS. I had a great time down in the KC area. Going into the competition I wasn't sure how well I would do. A week before my comp I strained my back from not warming up enough.... stupid injury that could have been avoided. I didn't work out all week in hopes that it would get better. Fortunately it was good enough to go, not 100 percent but good enough. The first WOD was tough... 3 rounds of 10 overhead lunges at 95 pounds, 15 snatches at 95 pounds and 15 kb swings at 53 pounds. I ended up in 14th place. The second WOD was 4 min find your 1RM of clean and jerk... I surprised myself by getting a 20 pound PR and put up 235 pounds. I ended up getting 3rd place in that WOD. WOD three and four were together... WOD three was 5min AMRAP of one handed kb snatches at 44 pounds... then rest 1 min and WOD four was 2 min burpee box jump overs. I don't remember exactly where I ended on those WODs but I was in 4th place putting me into the finals. The final WOD was Fran with burpees instead of pullups. I was pretty much dead for this last WOD and got 8th place putting me in 6th place. Overall I was happy with the competition... with out a 100 percent back I was able to get a PR on clean and jerk and make the finals!! Now to determine what my next comp will be and get back to training!
